Yeahhh I suck. I have like 100 pages left, but I've been so preoccupied as of late, I probably won't finish until April. Laame!

I gave up on the book. I forgot to mention that. So don't wait for me, ladies.

Still haven't started. I'm skipping this one. Whoever has finished should go ahead and start discussing.

Well should we start talking about a new book selection whilst those who read Love in the Time of Cholera discuss? I'm ready to start a new book, so
hopefully we can read one of the many I have on my shelf. Ha. How about Confederacy of Dunces??

I really need to get back to this other reading challenge, which may not line up with what you ladies want to read. Before the end of March, I'm going to
read "The Reader" -- a book made into a movie since 2000-- and "Rebels in Blue: The story of Keith and Malinda Blalock" (a biography about
a husband and wife who fought side by side in the Civil War) -- a biography.

Oooooooh.............The Reader is really good. I read it a few years ago. Nice choice.

Meg - After seeing the film, I decided I wanted to read it.

It's a pretty quick read. Good stuff.
I have no idea what I am going to read next. Nothing sounds interesting right now.

I'm really into the Shopaholic series right now. I just finished the second one and now I want to read the rest of them. But I'm torn because I have
other books at home that are waiting to be read (and don't cost me anymore money!). So I may read some of those first.
Oh!!! Meg, if you're looking for a great new book to read, you should try A Prisoner of Birth by Jeffry Archer. I could NOT put that book down. I read it in two days, including reading for 6 hours in a car, which I haven't done since I was about 8 years old because it makes me so carsick. Andy is reading it now and HE can't put it down either. It's fantastico. |

Ali - The public library is free and stocked. Just sayin'

I don't even know where my public library is. And knowing me, I'd forget to return it before I move and wind up with a billion dollars in library
fines.

My library sends me an e-mail four days before the book is due. Love it.

Thanks for the suggestion Ali. I just read the synopsis on Amazon and it sounds pretty good. Like you, I have a ton of books on my bookshelf that I could read,
but none of them are peaking my interest right now.

Micah, I also inherited this thing about books from my dad. He's a collector. Big time. I like to buy books because I like to keep all of the books that
I've read on my bookshelves.
Meg, if you want a fast read and a book you can't put down kind of read, then this would be a good one to slot in there right now. It'll get you motivated to read other books again too. So you can go back to the ones on your shelves once you finish it. |

Ali - I used to be like that. But then I realized there are a lot of books I buy, read once and never care to read again. So I've tried to be more
selective about the books I actually buy. Plus, I don't have a lot of extra income, so...that forces it a bit too.

Am I the only one who finished "Love"?
I would recommend "Austenland" by Shannon Hale. It's an easy fun read! Damn fraggles, always eating our structures. |

My sister had just gotten these books in when I went to visit last month so for the heck of it I joined the book club and ordered them.
P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast Marked Betrayed Chosen Untamed Hunted Tempted (haven't had a chance to read it as I haven't been able to buy it as I'm broke as hell and the library doesn't have it in stock-hopefully I'll be able to do it soon or the library will order it) They're about a teenage girl (and her friends) who become(or may become) a vampire-they're version is that vampires aren't made and that humans may have the genetics to become one or will die in the process that takes about 3 years while they learn and train to become them. They may make the change when they're older or their body will reject the change and they will die instead. It's hard to explain but I really liked them. I've read them all twice now so far and may end up reading them again. If anyone gets a chance to read them. Let me know what you think of them. |

Tina- I've wanted to read those for quite a while, but my library doesn't stock them at all.

I really like them and I've read them twice and will probably read them again if I ever get the last one. I actually got all 5 for under $17 because I
joined a book club, but I don't think they're all that expensive by themselves. Hope you like them.
