I must have missed your post Micah but you all should turn on the home run derby right now. Josh Hamilton is AMAZING.
I remember him from last year's All Star game and his story. It really is absolutely incredible. He's got two outs left and is at 27 HRs. CRAZY.

Josh wasn't in last year's all-star game. This was his first ever. He's amazing. I can't wait to see him take BP this weekend in Minnesota. I

He's been mentioned on this thread, but I have to gush about my beloved Josh Hamilton again. With the help of ESPN columnist Tim Keown, Hamilton has
written a book about his life.
"Baseball is in it, just because I've played it my whole life," Hamilton said. "It's more about leading up to the struggles I went through, getting through that and putting God first in my life." He and Keown started working in earnest on the book during the off-season, though a chapter was added to chronicle Hamilton's performance at the Home Run Derby. Hamilton said it was difficult to recount the stories of his hardships, and reading the book was tough at times, too. But his purpose in doing the book was to hopefully help people who face the same battles he did. "There were some parts where I laughed and some parts where I teared up," he said. "The ultimate thing is, no matter what happens in your
life, putting God first really opens some doors to good things happening."

Did everyone quit watching baseball when the Dodgers lost???
I am a Cardinals fan, but I have to cheer for the Phillies in the WS this year. Their manager, Charlie Manuel, is from my town & graduated from my high school. I go to church w/ his brother & nieces. My coworker played baseball with him in school & Charlie always gets him into the games whenever he goes to see him. I would be thrown out of town for routing against them now. Normally, I would be cheering for the Rays, since they are the suprise success story, with such a "small" budget to get so far. However, with the local connection, it's all Phillies for me!

This is one of those years when I will be happy with either team winning (doesn't happen often). I like the Phillies and the Rays. I'm more inclined to
cheer for the Rays, however, because they are the AL team. Also, I adore Scott Kazmir, Evan Longoria and Carl Crawford. Plus, I really like their "worst
to first" story ... it gives me hope for my beloved Rangers. So....GO RAYS!
