Most of you already know about Teitur, but I f.ucking love this man, so I'm starting a thread for him in the new forum. Here's a couple of links for
those of you who aren't in the know. He's amazing and you'll get stuck listening to his music on repeat for weeks. I promise.

She did post one over at L83 though, so I've copy and pasted it here... ----------------- Yep - the Melbourne gig was totally awesome! There were more people there than I expected. The support act was a guy called Michael Paynter (or painted-on-jeans as we decided to call him). He was an awesome singer (but would have to wonder if the tightness of his jeans helped him hit the high notes). Then Teitur came on, as Hannah said, wearing a 3 piece suit. I dragged my boyfriend along and his first comment was "is THAT HIM!!!!". He was playing solo as he explained it was too expensive to bring his band out with him (but really, he could have charged more than $12 a ticket). He opened with 'You Get Me' off the new album 'Stay Under the Stars' with him playing the piano and continued with 'All My Mistakes'. He then moved to the guitar and played 'Don't Want You To Wake Up', then my personal favourite ' I Was Just Thinking'. The set continued with much banter that got the crowd laughing. He played two songs in Faroese (his native language) then played some old favourites and some new songs. 'Boy She Can Sing' was a highlight. He got the crowd involved by clapping (at the appropriate time) and it was good fun. He was going to finish with 'Josephine' (another favourite of mine) but continued on to play 'Great Balls of Fire'. He then went up to the front of the venue and thanked everyone for coming and signed CD's. Having never had to opportunity to see Teitur live I was stunned by how endearing the man is. Yes, he looks like Mr. Bean but you just want to pinch his cheeks and tell him how cute he is. ----------- Yeah I went too and it was ossum!  |

I really didn't care for him when I saw him open for Mayer back in 2004. But I have since revisited his music and I have to say that I'm totally
digging it now! I love "Louis Louis." I definitely need more of his stuff and I really would like to see him live again. Too bad The Roxy's sound
system sucks balls and I will have JUST left SF.
